I own 5-10 Acres
Landowners with 5-10 acres of property may sponsor a Commercial or Community solar farm, with or without battery storage included. This "sweet spot" has been touted as an energy favorite due to how quickly the projects can become approved and operational. Leasing of land is likely the preferred method, and this lease is likely to last 20-25 years. This allows the landowner to pass down the lease benefits and overall ownership of the land as an enduring legacy to their family/others, without dealing with any of the responsibilities of the equipment installed.

In Commercial Solar Installations, the project is likely serving a large commercial entity, which could include the electric utility but could also be offsetting a local business not able to support the amount of space for the energy their business requires.

Community Solar farms are continuing to rise in popularity, and help hundreds of thousands of individual homeowners today. More like a "subscription-based" service provided by a third party, landowners can feel a communal benefit and satisfaction knowing local neighborhoods are benefitting from the energy generated from their site. Homeowners get the opportunity to claim and own a certain number of panels from the site, and the energy generated from it.
I own 10-100 acres
Landowners with 10 or more acres will start to see project opportunities escalate to the Small Utility Scale Solar and/or Energy Storage size. Structured very similar to a Commercial sized project, the ideal transaction from landowner to developer is a Lease of the land at a likely 20-25 year term. Land is likely to be in a rural area. This is the true maximized legacy endowment for the landowner, whether they pass the ownership of land on to their family or others. Though it may take longer to receive approval and see construction start (1-2 years), the benefits are sure to reward the landowner, where developer's structure Land Lease/Option Agreements, warranting the landowner maximum flexibility and protection.

Landowners with 10-100 acres may be partnering with their local neighbors, where the developer may assist in finding adjacent land to piece together a larger project if possible and warranted by the landowners, area and utility serving the Solar/Energy project.

100 acres+
Landowners with 100 acres or more will officially fall into the Utility scale category and will have the various options when it comes to Renewable Energy projects, including; Wind, Solar, Energy Storage and more. Likely to take 2 years or more to develop, the landowner will have the full flexibility and protection of a Land Lease/Option Agreement.
